Introducing Myself and My Favorite Things

Hi. I'm Shogo Takatsuki. I'm from Kanagawa. I major in Earth and Planetary System Science.

I like tripping in the wilderness such as trekking, hiking, and going off-road on my bike. Occasionally, I go bikepacking—the synthesis of all-terrain cycling and backpacking. When I am riding a bike—not driving—I can experience the air in the countryside, the forest, and the riverside. I also like  to hear the sound of birds,  insects, river water flowing and tree swaying. Additionally, I often camp out on this kind of trip, I love the moment when I open the door of the tent before dawn. The clear  tensioned air wake me, and then rising sun gives me vigor. These are exciting.

These days, I am preparing for the next trip. I'm going to go bikepacking in Hokkaido on March. It will still so cold that I have to get many gears: spike tires for the icy road, a hard shell for the cold wind, down wears and sleeping bag for the freezing nights. Preparing is the most important, and one of the funniest phase. I imagine the trip and think what I need or not.

Well, How will the next trip be? I'm so looking forward to it.

  1. Hi... This is a nice start to your blog. I like it.

Yes, getting out into nature is GREAT.

Try to write A LOT in your blog this year about things that you like! If you do, your English writing skills will improve!

    Sincerely, Joe Lauer
